The focus of this interactive workshop is the Intercultural Conflict Style Inventory, Dr. Mitch Hammer's tool that measures four culturally learned styles for managing conflict. The tool is designed to enable employers with diverse cultural groups in the employee and/or customer populations to maximize positive and productive interactions. During this session, participants chart their own style and examine how their style compares to their own and other cultural communities.
Who Should Attend
Individuals at any organizational level who need to address conflict playing out in domestic or international situations.
Learning Objectives
- Learn the four conflict resolution styles (Discussion, Engagement, Accommodation and Dynamic) and the strengths and weaknesses of each
- Resolve disagreements among people who approach conflict differently from one another
- Effectively manage the stress and anxiety present in such situations
- More accurately interpret the statements and actions of persons involved in a conflict
- More effectively communicate and understand goals for resolving conflict
